- How can I tell if the Web page I am on is secure?
Web pages have two indicators that they are secure:
- A padlock icon at the bottom of the browser window (you can click the padlock to verify the identity of the site to which you are connected)
- A Web address that starts with “https” instead of “http”
These indicators assure you that the page—and your information—are protected. You will always see both when you log in to the Discovercard.com Account Center. If you do not see both of these indicators on the log in page of the Account Center, do not log in to the site and close your browser immediately. To make sure that you are always logging in to the Discover Card Web site, we suggest that you bookmark our home page or log in page and use it to access the site.
- How can I tell if an e-mail is really from Discover Card?
Authentic e-mails from Discover Card will come from one of these five addresses:
- discovercard@email.discovercard.com
- discovercard@service.discovercard.com
- websupport@service.discovercard.com

- What should I use for my Account Center password?
A good password is easy for you to remember—but hard for somebody else to guess. Avoid using passwords that others might guess, such as a birth date, Social Security number or pet’s name.
Select passwords you’ll remember, but try replacing some of the letters with numbers—“secret” might be “s1cr1t,” for example.
And mix up your passwords—use different passwords at different Web sites.
- Do I need to log out of the Account Center?
Yes, log out by clicking the “Account Center Log Out” link at the top of the page. You’ll see a new page confirming that you’ve logged out.
If you don’t log out, others using the same computer could potentially access information saved or cached in the memory of the browser. As an extra precaution, close your browser’s window before leaving the computer.
- If I request a new Discover Student Card design, will my Account number stay the same?
Yes. The terms of your agreement will remain the same, including your Account number, interest rates, statement closing date, Cashback Bonus and Account Center settings.
- I requested a new Discover Student Card design, what should I do with my current Card?

Continue using it until the expiration date shown on the Card or call us at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) to deactivate the Card. You do not need to return your current Card to us.
